Tunas

Tunas
Adding the Last Tunas.

Tunas Nopal, the fruit of the prickly pear cactus, are in season for a few months in the early Fall in Aguascalientes, Mexico. Our past trips were either too early in the year or too late to enjoy them - so I had only heard about them. This October, they were still available on October 6th when we arrived in Aguascalientes. There were stands in the City where they had three kinds (different sizes and colors), and peeled them to order, and it was the first stop after we landed. While they peeled them – I took the photos.

The Before Photo.
Super fast. She was super fast in peeling them and then filling the plastic cups.
Not Quite as Fast. His excuse is that he was a carpenter and was only trying to help.
Offering up a freshly peeled Tuna.
