Women in Focus is a group of great photographers here in Chicago that I get to learn from.  The group recent organized an exhibit "A Global Journey" featuring travel photos that 10 of us took.   Here is a statement about travel photography from me and the photos that I showed.

Like many, when traveling I am more aware, look more closely, see much more, and take photos. When I return to Chicago, I would try to bring that same sense of presence and wonder to the walk in my neighborhood, the commute to the Loop, or the trip to the grocery store, and I started to take my camera everywhere.  Travel photography opened my eyes to the everyday and photographs that I take to document how we live, work, and engage with the world.
