2024: On the Lookout for Birds. Taken at Busse Woods Forest Preserve in Elk Grove Village, IL

This weekend is the first Chicago Urban Birding Festival. There are guided field trips all day Saturday and Sunday. We wanted to go places we had not been before – so no Montrose Bird Sanctuary this weekend. We also registered late so our choices were a bit limited. Today we went to Busse Woods. Tomorrow we will go to the Southside to the Marian R. Byrnes Nature Area on a trip being led by the Feminist Bird Club and BIPOC birders.

2020: Sweeping. Taken on Hamlin just north of Lawrence in Chicago.
2018: Airport workers. Taken in Terminal 1 at O’Hare Airport in Chicago. In past years, many of my photos would be taken at airports. There are lots of people, and at O’Hare at the right time of the day, great light. As I waited at my gate, I took photos of people walking by as the light hit them -- especially airport workers.
