2024: Halloween on Halsted. Taken on Halsted north of Belmont in Chicago.

I had always known about the Halloween on Halsted with its parade, Queerness and contest, but never ventured there. We wanted our guests from Mexico to get the full Chicago Halloween experience so we started by giving out candy at home and then went to Halsted. It was really crowded and we got there on the late side – but with enough time to see some of the costumes and parade.

2020: Halloween during COVID. Taken on Home Ave between Lexington and Harvard in Oak Park, IL. There was still trick or treating in Oak Park this year -- but the masks covered mouths and noses -- and we created this candy shoot to ensure that lots of distance was maintained between Liam who was giving out the candy and the kids who were coming by.
2018: Fighting for the Middle Class. Taken at the Kane County Fairgrounds on Randall Road in St. Charles, IL. I attended a Lauren Underwood rally where VP Joe Biden spoke. The vast majority of the people who attended were women. I have no idea whether she has a realistic chance of winning. After 2016 I woudn’t trust anything even if she were predicted to win. But I will do what I can for her campaign.
2016: What did you order? Taken on Lawrence and St. Louis in Chicago
2012: No firearms at the Pabst Theater. Taken on the corner of Water and Wells in Milwaukee
