October 21

My walk today took me near friends' house, and I stopped by to visit them and their chickens. The chickens had a message for us "maybe after 248 yrs, let's give gals a try." So I took the photo below, and figured I should also take another photo of our effort at some campaign humor – our skeleton that reminds us that we can sleep when we're dead. There is little to laugh at in this election – but when we can make our point with humor, we have to do it.

2024: Let's Give Gals a Try. Taken on Francisco north of Lawrence in Chicago.
2020: Carrying Chairs. Taken on Clark Street Street between Berwyn and Summerdale in Chicago.
2018: Enough. Taken on Montrose at Bernard in Chicago. There was another shooting and murder in Albany Park. Today there was a “rapid response” and an Albany Park Anti-Gun Violence Vigil and Walk. We started in Horner Park and made our way to the site of one of the recent shootings where candles were lit for the vigil.
2016: Cool mushrooms. Taken on Shetland Trail in Leelanau County, MI.
2012: From the outside looking in. Taken at Pioneer Park at Harlem and Touhy in Niles.
