2024:Early Dinner. Taken at Kraken on Western north of Irving Park in Chicago.
The last few days have been so busy and so stressful – so Mony and I followed everyone's advice and took some time for ourselves this afternoon and evening. For this short time there were no zoom calls, no slack messages, no emails, and no signal. I got my hair cut, we both went for massages, and then came for an early dinner. It was so early – that it was only the two of us and the two women in this photo who were dining. By the time we left, all of the famlies with kids were there for dinner, and I am sure the diners without kids were coming next.
2020:Another day in the neighborhood. Taken on Lawrence and Pulaski in Chicago.2018:People have the power. Taken on Dearborn Street between Federal Plaza and Wacker in Chicago. Two days after the election we were back on the streets protesting Trump’s attempt to take over oversight of the Mueller investigation. I always throught it would be hard to marshal at a march and also take photos, so I have in the past avoided volunteering to marshal. But this time, if we were going to march we needed someone to lead the marshals. Now I know it is hard to do that and to get good photos. 2016:The darkest of days. Taken at home after my 4 hour drive from Cedar Rapids. I took other photos today in Cedar Rapids and at the Hillary campaign headquarters --- but none of them were right to put up here. I grabbed this sign hoping that it was a piece of history when America would elect its first woman as President. But here it is dark -- since we will instead have a President who is racist, misogynistic, dangerous, ignorant, divisive and destructive -- and more than 59 million Americans are too. There is no excuse.2012: Caution. Taken on 19th Street and DuPont Circle in Washington DC.
