2024: Community, Action, and Hope. Taken at The Hideout on Wabansia east of Elston in Chicago.

Indivisible Chicago hosted a second community gathering because "We Are Worth Fighting For." Today we had over 40 people even though it is a Saturday afternoon on a holiday weekend and really cold. At the beginning of each session we start by asking people how they are coming into this space together. We ask them to hold up a card of a specific color representing their main feeling: fear, anger, confusion or grief. Like last time, the cards were a rainbow of colors representing the full range of emotions. We then asked everyone to chat together and discuss what brings them here and what they would like to leave with – and that is the moment captured here. Some of the things that people are looking for are community, a place to take action, and hope. I can certainly relate to all of those.

2020: Birds and a ninja. Taken on Hamlin between Argyle and Ainslie in Chicago. Somedays I don’t get out to take a photo and do the best I can from where I am -- in this case the lamp on my desk.
2018: Down below. Taken on 37th Ave in Jackson Heights, Queens, NY. One of the truly NYC things is the doors on the sidewalks that lead to the basements of the buildings. When I walk by and see one open I always look.
2016: Buzzing in. Taken on Lawrence between Hamlin and Central Park in Chicago.
2012: Taking a smoke break. Taken on Lawrence Ave between Hamlin and Pulaski.
