It is getting dark so much earlier now – and I have zoom calls in the evenings as we all plan to resist and take action when the attacks to our communities and democracy come. So I took advantage of a lunch break for a quick walk and some photos.
2024: Our little rock garden. Taken on Hamlin between Ainslie and Argyle in Chicago. We just bought a glass bowl for all of the rocks that I have collected or bought and we put it on a bookcase in the living room. Today the sunlight was hitting it just right.2018:I grew up here. Taken in front of Lawando’s Auto Repair at Kimball and Foster in Chicago. Earlier this year, it was hard to miss that a rather non-descript garage at Kimball and Foster was painted red, white and blue. It made me curious about who owned/managed it. You can find out anything on the internet, so I learned that the owner/manager is Syrian. So today I stopped to take a photo at the garagae and to ask about why they had painted it. I met Sam, the son of Sayed who came outside for this photo. He told me that he painted the garage because he loves this country and loves what the flag stands for. He told me he grew up here since 1996 that that this was his country too. 2016:Why is it there? Taken on the Lake Michigan Beach between Farwell and Leone in Chicago 2012: She won't lose him at the airport. Taken at National Airport in Washington DC
