2024: Eye to Eye. Taken at Aden Live Poultry on Lawrence Ave west of Rockwell.

Aden Live Poultry on Lawrence Ave. is I guess where you go to buy live poultry. I have never been inside, but the door is often open and I have walked by many times since it is on Lawrence Ave, and it is often a busy place. Today, the door was shut and I got this photo of this young boy peering inside and being eye to eye with the turkey on the window.

2018: And have a doughnut with that. Taken on the red line between Grand and Harrison in Chicago. This was probably not the best photo that I took today -- but it comes with the best story. I transferred to the red line at Belmont and the train was mostly empty so I took a seat, with the seats on each side of me empty. A mother and her son got on the train and they were going to sit on each side of me. I noticed and quickly said that I would move over – so that they could have two seats with each other. Mom thanked me and I am sure the son most surely wished I had not done that. Mom proceeded to quietly lecture him for most of the ride about how he needed to learn the Constitution so that he would not have to go to summer school and would be able to pass to the next grade and graduate with his class, which she was not able to do because she was pregnant with him. I wanted to lean over to him and tell him I was sorry that I hadn’t kept the seat between them, but I knew that would have undermined mom and she seemed to have the best intentions in the world. He didn’t say anything. Then when mom finished she opened up a bag and fished out a big doughnut with pink frosting that she gave him. I couldn’t resist taking this photo.
2016: Opening of the pond. Taken in by backyard on Hamlin north of Lawrence in Chicago. Well I had a choice tonight -- either go take a walk and take some photos or get the pond started. I decided to go with the pond since it was 60 degrees out. So here is the result.
2012: Everyone is taking pictures. Taken around the Tidal Basin with the Cherry Blossoms
