March 10
2024: International Women's Day. Taken at Federal Plaza on Dearborn and Jackson.

To mark International Women's Day we helped marshal the March that set out from Federal Plaza. There were way too many speakers and they all spoke way too long, and it was a wee bit cold - but there was great energy. I know there is only supposed to one photo – but I cheated today with two. Compared to the large Women's Day events in many parts of the world, this was tiny and a couple days late. Still it felt important to honor the role of women in resistance: in Gaza, for migrants, against police violence, and for reproductive and LGBTQ+ rights.

2024:Hana Center Drummers. Taken on Clark Street a Van Buren.
2020:A Scientist Walks into a Bar. Taken at the Hideout Inn on Wabansia just east of Elston Ave in Chicago. This is a monthly feature at the The Hideout. Tonight’s was about thermodynamics and entropy. Always educational and really funny.
2018:Gone fishing. Taken at Montrose Harbor in Chicago. It was very sunny, but quite cold today -- the kind of cold that you feel in March when the wind is a little off of the Lake, especially when you are right at the Lake. There were a number of people fishing. I took several photos or this guy and just as I took this last one, he smiled and nodded his head.
2016:Some tunes and chips. Taken on P Street and 20th in Washington DC
2012:Delivery. Taken on Argyle Street just east of Broadway
