2024: Watching and Listening. Taken in Jordon Block Park between LaSalle ST and Hiawatha Pioneer Trl in Ottawa, IL.

The day before the Family Pride Festival in Ottawa, Illionis, Ottawa holds a Pride Night of Remembrance to honor members of the LGBTQ+ community and allies who have lost their lives to violence, suicide, AIDS, and other causes related to navigating their lives as members of marginalized populations. Mony was invited to speak. So I could have her photo here, but she objects when she is here too often – so instead I have this photo of two young people watching and listening.

2020: Taking the intersection for justice. Taken at Lincoln and Montrose in Chicago. There was a protest in Lincoln Square today. Most people ringed Wells Park and held signs with lots of families present -- but at the end this group of young people took the intersection at Montrose and Lincoln.
2018: I chose dinner. Taken at home on Hamlin in Chicago. The day had gotten away from me and working at my desk, driving Julia, and working on my curb lawn did not afford any photo opportunities. Since I had a hair appointment, I had to choose between a short walk to get a photo or making a healthy salad for dinner. I chose dinner and took a photo of the salad.
2016: Ladyslippers. Taken at Houdek Dunes a Leelanau Conservancy site along M22, North of Leland in Leelanau County MI. I thought I would have to search for one or two ladyslipper flowers on my Houdek Dunes hike -- and instead they were everywhere.
2012: Sharing an umbrella. Taken at Nassau St and Grafton St in Dublin, Ireland
