2024: Making His Own Shade. Taken on Lincoln Ave just north of Montrose in Chicago.

I took this photo shortly after leaving the house. He obviously saw me take it and I smiled said thank you and said it was a great idea to have a little shade in this heat. He told me he was doing this because he has had skin cancer and has to do this.

2020: Running down the Dune Climb. Taken at Sleeping Bears National Lakeshore in Leelanau County, MI. You can’t take kids to Sleeping Bear Dunes without running down the Dune Climb -- and you can’t run down the Dune Climb without taking photos.
2018: Pride. Taken along the Pride Parade route on Halsted or Broadway in Chicago. The Parade was great -- so many people and everyone so happy. In these dark times, it made me feel that we will win. I took many photos of people having a great time -- but this one captured for me what the day is all about -- pride. PS. Since 2018, I have taken photos at the Parade every year, and this remains my favorite photo.
2016: Nice and shiny. Taken on Chicago Ave. just east of Michigan Ave. in Chicago
2012: Windmills in the city. Taken on Fletcher just West of Paulina
