2024: Knee High on the 4th of July. Taken somewhere on between Amboy IL and Chicago.

My family always said that the corn is supposed to be knee hight on the 4th of July – but of course they were talking about sweet corn. This is field corn, and it is more than knee high, and now we have wind turbines to combat the climate crisis.

2020: July 4th at the Farmers’ Market. Taken on Scoville just south of Lake Street in Oak Park, IL. None of the usual 4th of July events like fireworks, but the Farmers Market goes on.
2018: 4th of July Parade. Taken on M22 in Glen Arbor, Michigan. There was plenty of red, white and blue, flags and stars on display in Glen Arbor for the July 4th Parade, but very little in the way of political statements. Me - I wore my red “Fight Fascism Now” t-shirt, because what can be more patriotic than fighting fascism.
