2024: Preparing Corn for the Grill. Taken in Woodhaven near Sublette, IL

We joined friends today for a little out of the city glamping a few hours west of Chicago. Of course with eight of us taking turns preparing meals – it seems like all we do is eat. Here, Consuela is preparing the corn for the grill while we debate whether you wrap the cob with its husks in foil, whether you take off the husks and wrap the cob in moistened paper and foil, or whether as I prefer - you run the husks under water then put them directly on the grill without foil.

2020: The view from the bleachers. Taken at the Elgin Sports Complex in Elgin, IL. Actually there are no bleachers -- but in this long delayed travel softball season, seeing any softball at all is wonderful. One of the rules is that fans cannot sit along the baseline or outfield line -- only socially distanced beyond the outfield fence. So this is the view.
2018: Good Harbor Bay. Taken in Good Harbor Bay between Bohemian Rd and Pyramid Point in Leelanau, Michigan. I spent the afternoon on the water. I took this photo and others in the relatively calm waters of the Bay before getting into the wind and water chop going around Pyramid Point. A good workout.
2016: My Fleet. Taken in the Narrows between North Lake Leelanau and South Lake Leelanau in Lake Leelanau, Michigan
2012: It's even too hot for the squirrels. Taken on Sacramento just south of Lawrence
