2024: Meditative. Taken on the corner of Clark St and Winona in Chicago.

As we were walking to the car after our post-monitoring beer at Hopleaf, I saw these three and took this photo. They guy with the beard obviously saw me – and asked why I had taken the photo. Sometimes I just smile and wave like I didn't hear and sometimes I say that I take photos of people on the street and I keep walking. However today, maybe because it was Friday or maybe because of the beer, I stopped and explained more. I learned that they had just left a all day meditation retreat led by the guy in the plaid shirt. We talked about how photography made me more present and was in its own way meditative. I love how my camera can open up these kinds of conversations.

2020: Miserable day. Taken from the car at the corner of Pulaski and Montrose in Chicago.
2018: Looking dapper. Taken on Lawrence just east of Kimball. Another Lawrence Ave. photo.
2016: One cool tree. Taken on Kirkwood and Sauganash in Chicago
2012: Which way is that? Taken on Wacker Drive just east of Michigan Ave.
