2024: From the Rooftop. Taken at Dank Haus Center on Western near Lawrence.

We went to a fundraiser for Alder Andre Vazquez that was held on the rooftop of the Dank Haus German American Center – which is just up the street from us and has a great view. These fundraisers are always kind of weird since they draw such an odd assortment of people: in this case there was a bit of hip hop, some young activists, some older progressives, and old time political types who probably went to these things when none of those other groups would have attended. All that is to say, there were probably better photos to be had, but I waited to take out my camera and this is all I took.

2020: Power. Taken on King Drive between 51st and 53rd in Chicago. We joined a car caravan to demand the passage of CPAC -- for civilian control of the Chicago police department. As we drove by this family -- they gave us this salute.
2018: Under watchful eyes. Taken at Daley Plaza at Washington and Dearborn in Chicago. I was walking past Daley plaza at lunch time today and the Chicago Park District was holding boxing matches with kids who participate in their boxing program. I mostly hate boxing, but for the little kids it seemed mostly harmless. When it came to the 17 year olds -- they were much faster and hit much harder. I couldn’t resist getting some photos with the Picasso in the background.
2016: Going against traffic. Taken on Belmont Ave. at Clark St. in Chicago
2012: Coffee break. Taken at the Denver International Airport
