2024: I was taking a few photos while the staff were doing the set up for a reception at the Latina Futures Conference. I think he was smiling the whole time – and he was very patient as I was taking his photo since I had the camera set wrong for the first one. In addition, he was our bartended at the reception – so I had no choice but to make this today's photo.

2020: A Tribute to MLK. Taken at Orchestra Hall on Michigan Ave at Adams in Chicago. I went to the MLK Tribute Concert put on by the Chicago Sinfonietta. It was so inspiring to hear Up to the Mountain and Glory and to feel the power of Seven Last Words of the Unarmed and the other pieces. It was a great way to honor MLK -- with everyone hand in hand closing with We Shall Overcome.
2018: Women March! Taken during the Women’s March at Jackson and Wabash in Chicago. As hard as the past days have been -- today was exhilarating and wonderful. I have no idea if there were 300,000 people -- but I knew there were so many I couldn’t find most of the people I was looking for. There were so many photos to choose from. We were slowly walking across Jackson to get to Dearborn and I worked my way over to these young women who were chanting and shouting. It was hard to get a photo because we were really crowded up against each other and we were in the shadows of all the buildings. Then when we got to Wabash, the sun hit us, and I took this. I was inspired by all the energy, determination, and beautiful women.
2016: Slider Station. Taken at the Red Coconut Club in Universal Studios in Orland, FL
2012: Taking an iphone picture. Taken on the red line train between DuPont Circle and Gallery Place in Washington DC.
