2024: Return of the Capricorn Party. Taken at Whiskey Girl on Clark Street just south of Devon in Chicago.

Beginning in the early 1980's and lasting for more than 20 years, a group of lesbians in Chicago organized an annual Capricorn Party. I had heard of them, but had never attended one. This year, some of the original organizers decided to bring it back for a new generation to preserve the history and culture of this event that provided a safe, happy, and festive space for so many. Of course, they are a bit older now – and so were most of the folks who attended, so maybe it was tamer and ended earlier than the parties "back in the day." But it was a great time to catch up and dance!

2020: Not quite art. Taken on School St. just west of Broadway in Chicago. Hard to focus on photography. Best I could do today.
2018: Taking responsibility for the face of the world. Taken at home on Hamlin in Chicago. “Life in political, not because the world cares about how you feel, but because the world reacts to what you do.” -- Timothy Snyder On Tyranny
2016: No it is not that cold on the train. Taken on the Brown line train between Kimball and Belmont in Chicago
2012: This has to be a worse workspace than your cubicle. Taken on DuPont Circle in Washington DC
