2024: In Three Parts. Taken from the Chicago Hilton garage looking south of Balbo at Wabash.

It is the beginning of Gala weekend when we celebrate Equality Illinois and have a room for two nights at the Hilton. We have a whole set of rituals that now go with the weekend, starting with a nice dinner on Friday and then drinks with some of the EI staff. The sun was just right when we parked at the Hilton garage.

2018: Over. Taken at the office at Ashland and Jackson in Chicago. It was one of those rare days when I knew that I had to take a photo that marked the moment. Today was my last day at Local 73 and at SEIU. And after 17 years and add another 11 years to that for the time I worked in the labor movement as an attorney -- well, it is a long time, and I have a lot of emotions. Regardless of my feelings towards SEIU -- I will always be Union, and part of me will always have a home in the labor movement.
