February 1

I am not sure that this was the best photo from today, but it was the best story. As I took a lunch time walk taking advantage of SUN and 50 degree weather, I saw a woman walking toward me with these two dogs in a baby carraige. We made eye contact, so I asked for a photo. She was very, very eager for me to take a photo of the dogs, but not of her. I learned that her name was Gloria, and that these were Ebony and Ivory – she made sure to tell me which was which. She even came and stood next to me so that they would look towards the camera. Gloria told me she was enjoying the sun because all the rain and clouds are depressing and that she and her group say that "sun is nature's prozac." I am guessing I may see Gloria, Ebony and Ivory on some future walk, and maybe someday I can work up to getting Gloria into the photo.

2020: Sneaking a side look during a photo. Taken at the Benito Juarez Community Academy at Cermak and Ashland in Chicago. This group was performing at the ICIRR summit. They were posing for another photographer when I took my photo from the side and one of the girls sneaked a look towards me.
2018: My Usual Barista. Taken at Groundswell on Madison at Racine in Chicago. This is my usual coffee stop and the barista that I see the most. I had told myself at the beginning of the year that I was going to limit myself to 2 lattes a week. But that didn’t last. I let myself have a latte everyday since it helped me face the day -- I would have had more if it would have helped. Anyhow, when I went in today, I told her that she was going to lose a regular customer since tomorrow would be my last day of work. She didn’t miss a beat and said “how exciting!” I am beginning to feel the same way.
2016: Waiting at the Airport. Taken in Terminal 1 at O’Hare Airport in Chicago. I spend a lot of time waiting at airports and today I stayed in one place and took photos as the people hurried by. This man didn’t seem in much of a hurry though. He sat a few seats down from me and I discretely took this photo. The advantages of using my small camera.
2012: Construction. Taken on 14th Street just north of P Street NW in Washington DC
