December 29

I would love to finish the year with strong, good photos. But then there are days like today when it is 40 degrees out and it pours all day. I made myself venture out and even took the car so I could get a photo. But no one else wanted to be out today either in the wind and the rain. I walked a couple of blocks in Albany Park in search of something and Dulce De Leche Cafe had just closed and someone was under the table sweeping the floor.

2020: The new building on the block. Taken on Wacker Dr. between Columbus and LSD in Chicago . It is hard to miss the new Vista Tower (being re-named the St. Regis Tower) just South of the Chicago River and almost at Lake Michigan. I had a few minutes to talk a short walk while near Northwestern Hospital today and went to check out the new building up close. I love the curved lines and contrasting stripes -- and in color it is varying shades of blue. I did research once home and it is now the third tallest building in Chicago and the architect is Jeanne Gang who also designed the Aqua Tower.
2018: Activism. Taken at the offices of AAAN on 63rd Street at Kedzie in Chicago. Thank you to Danya for sharing with me her story of activism and the work of the Arab American Action Network. Hopefully this is the beginning of a long term project about activist and organizers and our communities in Chicago.
2016: Unpacking. Taken on Racine between Adams and Madison in Chicago.
2012: Look at the stick that I found. Taken on Hermitage between Montrose and Lawrence
