2024: Celebrating Three Birthdays. Taken on Sunnyside east of Lincoln in Chicago.

Within a few days of each other are Emma and Mony's birthday – as well as Emma's friend Logan. Since Emma was not leaving to go back to Boston until tomorrow, we celebrated all three birthdays together and they jointly blew out the candles.

2020: Mariachi Sirenas during COVID. Take on Home Ave between Lexington and Harvard in Oak Park, IL. For Emma’s 18th birthday, the all women mariachi band, Mariachi Sirenas, came and played in the back yard as part of the celebration. We all stayed in the house so we could maintain social distance, and they all wore masks when playing and singing -- but it was so wonderful and most importantly, Emma loved it.
