2024: We Got This Together. Taken in front of Wildrose on E Pike and 11th Ave in Seattle, WA

After spending the day on a hike in one of Seattle's parks on the sound, picking up the rental car, and having a wonderful seafood dinner, we headed to the Capitol Hill nieghborhood of Seattle to visit Elliott Bay Books and then to Wildrose, one of the oldest lesbian bars on the West Coast, having opened in 1984. We were there on the early side for a Saturday night, but he had drinks outside. It was lovely. As we were leaving, I caught this photo, which is a favorite.

2020: Lines. Taken on Milwaukee between North Ave and the 606 Trail in Chicago. We wait in lines for everything these days with limited capacity and more demand than supply - so this is what we do. This line was for COVID test for Emma and her friend who were exposed when someone at work contracted COVID. We were in line at 8am for a test when clinic opened at 8am and were not even the first in line. But they were tested and were negative. People who arrived at 8am were too late. This is six months into the pandemic -- not a formula for ever having this thing under control.
2018: Love Cannot be Silent. Taken in Caldwell Preserve at Devon and Milwaukee in Chicago. There was a Peace in the Preserves event at Caldwell Park today at the site where a young woman wearing a Puerto Rican t-shirt was berated by a racist while a County officer stood by and did nothing. Members of the community came together tonight to show our support for diversity and to make it clear that the parks and preserves belong to everyone in Chicago. There were a lot of families and kids there -- and the kids made for the best photos.
2016: Bumper Sticker. Taken on Mill Street in Northport, MI.
2012: Making best of time at the airport. Taken at Bush International Airport in Houston.
