Let the festivities begin. The DNC starts tomorrow, and today was one of many, many parties and events. This one was hosted by Sidetrack, Equality Illinois, and Chicago's LGBTQ+ elected officials for LGBTQ+ delegates. The Bar was packed, and we knew a lot of people – but pretty much stayed in one area in one room of the bar. There was a short program – and the best of that was hearing from Art Johnston, one of the founders and owners of Sidetrack. He has been an LGBTQ+ activist since I have been in Chicago and back before we said "LGBTQ+"!
