2024: Just Like Summer. Taken at the Montrose Point Bird Sanctuary in Chicago.

It was a beautiful, warm spring day with lots of migrating birds. But birds cannot be the photo every day, so here is some of the people at Montrose.

2020: Lawrence Avenue during Covid. Taken on Lawrence Avel just west of Kedzie in Chicago. I took my usual walk on Lawrence Ave today and there were more people out than there have been lately. Every day there are more masks although it still takes quite a bit of work to maintain social distancing - often yielding the sidewalk and taking the bike lane on the street. There were a lot of photos to choose from today -- this is one.
2018: Spring gardening. Taken at the Peterson Global Garden on Lawrence and Sacramento in Chicago. I was walking home from getting coffee and as always went by the Peterson Garden. They had just cleaned it up last weekend. There was young couple and their daughter planting their first spring vegetables and watering them. I walked in and asked if I could take some photos. She was so serious about watering the plants -- and so dressed for the occasion.
2016: At least I wasn’t on a bike. Taken on Halsted just south of North Ave in Chicago. It was cold and rainy and just an awful day to be out and an even worse day trying to take a photo -- but at least I wasn’t on a bike.
