April 20

I only had time for a few quick photos on our way to a great dinner and then a play at Steppenwolf.

2020: Something Happy. Taken on Hamlin Ave. between Montrose and Elston in Chicago. This appears to be someone’s attempt to make someone happy -- maybe a child at home or maybe someone like me who is walking by.
2018: It’s all about the glasses. Taken at Delancy St. and Orchard Street in the Lower East Side of Manhattan, NYC. Again, there were so many good photos that it was hard to pick one, but I felt like this one captured NYC for me.
2016: Ramps. Taken on a hike in the Clay Cliffs Reserve just north of Leland in Leelanau County, MI. I was told there were wild leeks on our property in Leelanau, but I never had any idea of what I was looking for. Then last spring I was on a hike at Pyramid Point and I laid down in the woods to take a photo of some wild flowers. When I did that all I could smell was garlic -- and realized that all of the green clumps were the wild leeks or ramps. They are everywhere and give the forest its first green of the spring -- and they are great to eat!
2012: Construction site. Taken on Seminary Ave just north of Belmont.
