April 14

I feel like it has been a little while since I took a photo that I really love – and this is one of those. As soon as I saw the two of them sitting there reading, I didn't hesitate to move closer and take the photo. I guess I should have gotten lower and missed the bike helmet – but I like street photography because I feel like the most important thing is to capture the moment. And this was a great moment to capture.

2020: Groceries at the Door. Taken on Oak Park Ave between Cermak and Roosevelt in Berwyn, IL. There are a lot of different reasons why groceries could be waiting at the door. Friends and family members deliver groceries to people who are at higher risk. Other people choose to have their groceries delivered by instacart or other services. This is an increasing common sight.
2018: Wild day on the Lake. Taken at the Lakefront just south of Foster in Chicago. Rain, high winds, and 38 degree temperatures didn’t make me want to go look for photos. So when I went to hear Cecile Richards speak at Senn HS, I had only taken a few from the car. While I was walking into the auditorium, I spoke to a woman and we both complained about the weather, but she said the Lake was something. So after the talk, I went to Foster. It was so windy with rain and spray, that I could barely stand there and take photos even with a hat and gloves, but the ones I took when my lens was not all wet were great. And to think that I hope to be out there paddling very soon.
2016: #Fight for 15. Taken at the Fight for 15 Action near Ontario and Clark in Chicago
2012: Waiting to drive the bus. Taken at Clark and Foster
